A comprehensive report by the East Timorese government’s Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation (CAVR) into atrocities committed by Indonesia during its 24-year occupation of Timor-Leste (East Timor) has found Western countries who supported the invasion culpable in the deaths of up to 180,000 Timorese - around a third of the half-island’s pre-1975 population. ....more
