So women: if your husband starts beating you, has sex with whores and gives you AIDS, then you are still locked into hell.
I don't buy it.
The pope is very insensitive to the needs of other people.
'However, experience shows'
I question the pope's experience in marriage. I would like to hear what his wife has to say about the subject.
Wow Lance! Your outlook is skewed. The Pope is not saying you are cast into hell, or that you even necessarily must stay living with someone who has or is abusing you. He only means that marriage is a once in a lifetime bond that cannot be broken because of the wrongs committed by one or both of the parties. You are only married once. The Church cannot recognize subsequent 'marriages.' If you divorce, whatever the reasons, you must stay single or be reconciled to your spouse if possible. And all things are still possible with God.
