Georgia vs RussiaAug 30th, 2008 - 22:21:39

Its about time the EU Union researched the facts about the war between Georgia and Russia.

Russia did not starte the genocide.
We can fault the Georgia government for the attrocities and genocide against the Ossetia peaceful people.

Russia only responded to the invasion and the crimes commited against the Ossetia people.

The western media along with the united states has been misleading, and lying to the world.

The US and Israel had hundreds of military and civilian contractors training the Georgian army.

It takes time to mobilize an army and logistics are an enormous part of any military endeavour. It doesn't come together overnight.

That is, it was impossible that the US did not know about the invasion of South Ossetia before the event.

Then it is reasonable to assume that the people who trained the Georgian military taught them the tactics used in the invasion - massive bombardment of civilians - shock and awe - if you can't use it yourself, deny it to the enemy - etc, etc, ad nauseam.

Both the US an Israel must have known what was brewing. They look ridiculous now, so why did they allow Saakashvili to go along with it? Its meaningless, unless...
Did they spring the 'October surprise' in August this time?

I am wondering how deeply the Western Media will bury this story.

The celebrations of the Abkazians, finally granted their independence, fireworks to rival Beijing 2008, dancing in the streets, these scenes of a country full of grinning, joyous people, it was also censored in the US. Abkazia is finally free, after decades under the yoke of the Soviet Union, and then under the yoke of Georgia, and whether anyone in the US knows or cares.

But the US wants to force these people back under the rule of a despot, into a country, Georgia, with a different culture, a totally different language, and with whom they have fought several wars. Good luck with that.

The US makes a mistake continuing to support Mad Mikhail Shaakashvili. The guy doesn't know truth from fiction, he is, as we say in the US, two cans short of a six-pack.

So the US was seeking to expel Russia from the OSCE.

Why?

Well, maybe they were thinking that the OSCE would support Georgia's dictator's version of events, and if Russia was no longer a member, then they would have no voice and the madman from Tbilisi would carry the day in the media.

Finally the American politically correct stormtroopers got into the embarassing situation of having their lies in the media exposed. They lied about Yugoslavia about the 'bad' Serbs 'oppressing' to 'good' Bosnian Muslims and Albanians, friends of the KLA and Al Qaida, they lied about the 'bad' Russians oppresing the 'good' Chechen rebels, likewise, friends of Al aida and bin Laden, they lied about 'weapons of mass destruction' and 'ties to Al Qaida' in Iraq, and now they tried to lie about this situation and to portray the aggressor, politically correct functionary Saakashvili, as the 'victim'. Their own lies and treachery is going against them.

The attack on S.Ossetia reminded me of a simillar atack on civilians in Iraq! In the night, bombing and killing civilian population!
It's been well prepared and supported by US and Israeli advisers and they have even supplied their latest weapons!!!,

Bravo for the EU. The US wants to surround the Russians in order to control the vast oil fields in the Caspian and in Central Asia. McCain said it best, 'economics and foreign policy are one in the same'. The US is merging fascism and capitalism. The US is finally shown who its real god is: Money disguised as freedom!

Doing something wrong doesn't have to serve as an alibi for doing something equally wrong.Georgia should have settled the differences with south ossetians in a more peaceful manner, but Russia has done similar damage with it's out of proportion response to it .Where is it written that in every conflict there is always a good and a bad player ?Comparing the georgian issue with the genocide the serbs started in Bosnia is bad policy. The 800 men and boys killed in Srebrenicja, the siege of Sarajevo are from a different magnitude .Whomever is responsible for such genocide places himself out of civilization.Similar practices have never occurred in Georgia .People who compare both simply lack all moral judgment to do so.

Tony from Belgium

There was no genocide on the part of Serbia. Please review the census data of Kosovoa for the decade prior to the Kosovo war. You will find that it was the Kosova Albanians cleansing the Serbs from Kosovo. The Serbians finally had enough and responded with an offensive.

South Ossetia has been attacked 4 times in the last 20 years and threatened by Saakashvili on a weekly basis. Enough, give them their freedom.

I am surprised by the way the world reacted to the events:

1- Virtually all global media outlets chose their camp, the 'democratic' Georgia and its president was using their networks 24/24 for his own propaganda.

2- Virtually all western countries chose their camp, the 'democratic' Georgia and sent presidents or foreign ministers to Georgia.

This contradicts the chain of events that led to Russian move into Ossetia. The same media showed Georgia firing missiles into South Ossetia when Putin was still in Beijing and by the time he got back Georgia had slaughtered the Ossetians and occupied the province with the help of the Israelis (private contractors led by former Generals).

What is the the logic here? How can the agressor enjoy full support from the western world and the Ossetian civilians that were wiped out by Georgia ignored?

The only conclusion I came up with was that all those countries knew what was in the making. They were trying to use Georgia as a puppet to attack Russia in order to justify giving it membership in NATO and to help McCain win in November. The neo-cons were aware of all preparations and sent in all waponry and training required for the attack.

They have not finish Irak and Afghanistan and they are starting another front in order to sell weapons and control natutal resources in the Caucasus. What cynicism?

The Trojan horse i.e. missile defense is at the Russian threshold. Georgia and other Eastern European countries are being used by USA to provoke and test Russian defenses. The American Right wasn't happy with the outcome of the end of the Cold War. There was no total destruction of the enemy that would assure American supremacy forever. It was a 'Jimmy Carter' type of victory rather than the Rambo victory they would have wanted. You could say this will be a correction.

Has anyone found the actual report? ...

There never was anything else except the news paper article. OSCE representatives have denied that they have passed on the information what appeared in Der Spiegel

'The Chairman of the OSCE Permanent Council, Ambassador Antti Turunen, underscored today that the Organization had distributed all spot reports submitted by its Mission to Georgia on the recent Georgia-Russia conflict to all 56 OSCE participating States.

'As you know, there is nothing in the reports of the monitors that would corroborate the report in Der Spiegel,' he said, referring to a story in the latest issue of the German news magazine.'

Bravo EU? :) its OSCE not EU, which Der Spiegel claimed as their source which has now proven to be incorrect.
