The word is spelled 'defense'. The word you used means to get rid of a fence.

Hey guys: This is the world. Look it up in Websters: Defence: British spelling of defense. Cut the author a break.

Now, in regards to the article subject: Putin doesn't understand: Having the U.S. build a defense center is akin to white collar welfare for otherwise unemployable engineers. If he wants his workers to be on the dole then he has to suck up to the man. It's that obvious.

The current situation makes me think of the Turkish affair which prompted the Cuban Missile Crisis. Makes me understand WHO started that crisis, and WHO is responsible for this one...

If only people in current administration knew how to read relevant books, I would suggest they read Moore, Machiavelli, etc. Many empires have failed; it would suck if US should too, 'cause I live here.
