These people 'protesting' are a minority who want to go back to the old system of cronyism and corruption. They seem to forget before the AK Party the 70% inflation, high unemployment, weak governments and currency. These people only care about themselves. They are xenophobic and anti-foreigner. Look at the signs they carry. The AK Party should be rewarded for finally pulling the country out of the gutter, but hey, here in Turkey it's always 'bir numara' - only look out for number one. And no, I didn't waste my time to observe their 'protest' - I wouldn't want to tell some idiot with an anti-US sign where to stick it. - Ted VB (USA), Izmir Turkey
Interesting...I thought this was an secular protest, but you say its as much an anti US thing. Ill take your word for this as you seem to be there, but whats their beef with the US?
