Has anybody figured who/what is gonna use these millions of ga--liters of Ethanol, except ol' Teddy?
Have any of our Royals ever been told that, except for our Royals and the rest of the Welfare Crowd, that you can't get something for nothing?
AHHHHH, fergit it.
As long as Algore can fly in his wood-burning jet-plane and be met by his wood-burning stretch SUVs, all is right with the World.

Or they'll just carry on growing opium which the Taliban will sell to our heroin users.

I can never understand why the West supplies Afghanistan with food aid because those cleaver Afghans instead of growing corn and wheat then grow poppies instead?

One thing for sure and that is that the world's population will never get to 7 billion. The worlds farmers have only had one year of surplus grain since the millenium and world grain stocks are at their lowest ever recorded. Ethanol production will only speed up the process. We will probably have 'Peak oil' and 'Peak grain' at the same time. It's got to be good news for global warming though because less people mean less demand and less polution. It's got to be good news for USA foreign policy because a hungry world tends to do as it is told, pity about the poor sods who are going to starve to death though.

SP4: Political FuelSep 2nd, 2007 - 17:35:12

It comes from Iowa, and they KNOW to win Iowa's primary, dem or republican, you MUST greenlight Ethanol. What a perfect scam.

Ethanol:

Takes far more energy to make than it produces

Has NO environmental benefits, in fact it's worse

requires HUGE agriculteral resources that would be better used for food

Makes NO meaningful dent in oil imports

If you want to make a dent in fuel consumption get a smaller car.

corn is not a very good source for bio fuel. But since corn gets a huge subsidy....yeesh. There are better biofuel alternatives that provide better bang for the energy then corn.

We are allowing the cupidity of the few to drag all of us down into the crushing black depths of true stupidity.

Better start drinking gas instead of milk, I might get better running mileage. Could be bad for the gut but what isn't now days!
