Geez these guys must be wearing blinkers!
Coal bed methane is big business ... it provides 10% of American natural gas supplies ... here in Australia the resource is sufficient for the plug to be pulled the PNG Pipeline ... Europe has significant untapped coal reseves containing coal bed methane ... it just never seems to rate a mention in any European energy security debate I have read ... go figure.

And other world economies are starting to look into coincident coal bed methane / underground coal gasification (ucg) projects which offer the grail of a potential second phase development to a depleted coal bed methane well field ... refer to the hc post link below if you are interested.
