Tokyo stocks tumble on Wall Street's declines (Roundup)

Tokyo - Tokyo stocks plunged Tuesday on Wall Street's overnight falls and concerns over the US economy.

The Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 326.94 points, or 2.45 per cent, to close at 13,033.1. The index briefly fell below 13,000 level for the first time since April.

The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was also down 29.29 points, or 2.23 per cent, to 1,283.51.

On currency markets at midday (0300 GMT), the dollar was quoted at 107.08-13 yen, down from Monday's 5 pm quote of 107.62-63 yen.

The euro was quoted at 1.5699-5704 dollars, up from Monday's 5 pm quote of 1.5624-26 dollars, and at 168.12-17 yen, down from 168.15-19 yen.
