Let's be blunt: China's currency which is tied to the value of the US dollar is a huge tariff on all US goods imported into China. Until the Chinese de-couple the yuan from the dollar and let it float freely, the US should place a tariff on all Chinese goods exported to the USA. China, whether any one wants to admit it, is the greatest long term threat to the health and well being to the USA and is a greater threat to our long term survival than either the Taliban or Al Quaeda. Almost everything Americans buy is now made in China, excepting food and other perishable goods. Every tool I have purchased from a USA company since 2000 has been made in China - Skil, Rigid, Dewalt, Craftsmen, etc. All of my older tools were made in the USA or Canada. Every TV and computer is built in China. The USA has become a service economy and we can't survive as a nation just by being a service economy - we need to build and export products. It was our industrial might that made the USA so wealthy and successful not our ability to provide services. When is America and especially our politicians going to wake up?
