Madrid airport almost back to normal after days of chaos

Madrid - Madrid's Barajas airport was almost back to normal Tuesday after cancellations and delays of flights affected tens of thousands of passengers, the airport operator Aena said. The problems were caused by heavy snowfall and an alleged unofficial work to rule stoppage by pilots of the Spanish airline Iberia. Iberia still cancelled 11 flights in the morning, after cancelling more than 30 flights on Monday. Iberia flights continued to suffer delays. The airport was nevertheless functioning normally despite renewed snowfall, Aena said.
