Having visited Thailand twice for a total duration of three months, I can say the Thais are the most peaceful, happiest, friendliest people we´ve ever come across in our travels around the world. It´s where we want to retire...because of the people. How unfortunate that they too have Islam to deal with. Being a peaceful people, the Thais hardly understand how other people can be so barbaric and bloodthirsty and evil. Islam is a curse wherever it is on this planet. It is the cancer of this planet, the bane of humanity. It is evil incarnate. It is not a religion, but a death cult that has over a billion people fooled. It must be stopped for the sake of civilation. The world is waking up to that fact. God bless the beautiful Thai people and Thai wonderful culture in trying to deal with the Muslims rearing up in the south.
Islam is sad indeed. How many attacks does it take for the civilized world to figure out that Islam is a vile totalitarian ideology that will bring no good to man. And stop ignoring the truth with misguided political correctness.

What Islam is not
To the previous two posters who claim to deride Islam, I have to say that you live in your own selfish cocooned world. Wake up to the fact that most of what the world is today (including your so-called great Western nations) would not be if not for the trading that was originated in Arabia hundreds of years ago. Capitalism would not be existent if not for the Arabs and the financial systems that they invented. So stop pointing fingers at other religions.. and try to make the world a better place to live in.
