Democracy is about free and fair elections. But elections also take place in Iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria or Somalia. A mature democracy has good government to look after the interests of the country. The PAD protesters are essentially asking for a mature democracy.

The protesters have been violently targetted several times. They are frustrated with the govt looking after the interests of family and cronies.

The Prime Minister (Thaksin's brother-in-law) should impose emergency rule in Chiang Mai and Udon Thani. At those cities, pro-Govt supporters DAAD in 'red shirts' have lynched and attacked any protesters (including the owner of a radio station) who come out to protest the government's frequently illegal actions.
