Sydney - Former Baywatch lycra queen and life-long vegetarian Pamela Anderson on Thursday led a protest against animal cruelty at an outlet of the fast-food chain that helped pay for her trip to Australia. The blond bombshell is in Australia to appear on the Big Brother reality television programme. 'Every show has a bunch of sponsors and it's not something you look into when you are offered a job,' the 41-year-old Anderson told reporters after handing in a protest letter at a KFC outlet on the east coast. 'But it's kind of interesting. It's a coincidence.' In red shorts and a skimpy top, Anderson defied the winter weather to deliver a protest that combined indignation with a plug for her Big Brother gig. 'I've been in Australia filming Big Brother House, in which my housemates and I are confined and sealed off from the outside world, much like the chickens who are crammed inside barns for KFC,' the letter reads. 'Fortunately, I won't be stomped to death, have my legs broken or be scalded to death in a tank of hot water, yet ... chickens raised for KFC's restaurants in Australia often suffer these abuses.' KFC released a statement saying it 'works with reputable suppliers, industry and government authorities regarding humane farming practices in accordance with Australian regulations.'
