China needs to make up its mind.

The olympics are supposed to be a symbol of internationality. Of openness to the rest of the world.

So does China want to be open with the world or not?

What's with wanting to host the olympics, but wanting to keep people out of Tibet and Carrefour out of China?

Is there something China has to hide? Surely now that the Chinese are demanding their place as olympic hosts, they should live up.

You can't have your moon cake and eat it too.

then, why people attack china's intention to openApr 19th, 2008 - 23:29:43

Hey in case you did not notice. SOme folks plan protest and riot in advance. They deliberately sabotage china's good intention of having the torch of harmony going around the world. If china is openly hostile or jingolistic, then it should not choose the first three stops in the western world. Haha what did it get? no respect. it looks silly with its good will. Do you know at one moment in paris, the chinese torch bearers had no protection. french police watched as the torch bearers one blind, one disabled from the waist down attacked by some pro-tibet goons. What? china needs to make up its mind? China made up its mind and was fooled. Overall, good lesson for china. 160 bil euro contract for airbus doesn't buy you any respect.

I always laugh when I see so called people protests in China, Tiannaman Square ring a bell? These are nothing more than staged events by the Chinese government and mean nothing at all. Personally I stopped buying any goods from china after they kept dumping toxic sludge into everything from kids toys to tooth paste, I would encourage everyone else to do the same, nothing else will get their attention.

To All Chinese People (included Tibetans)

Please see Buddha quotes as follow:-

'All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain?'

'Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule.'

Buddha.
************************

Please avoid China to become the 2nd Middle-East. The Cancer of 'Hatres' in between Arabs and Jews. or The unnecessary bloodshed in between the Protestants and the Catholics of the North-Ireland.

All these are the ''All wrong-doing arises because of mind.'

Please do not repeat these stupidities from history.

To avoid unnecessary confusion and anger:what do the Tibetans want ?They want autonomy and cultural freedom, nothing to do with independance .They probably realise that is something they'll never get ,so they settles for a policy of conciliation with China .Is it really too much asking to acknowledge different regions have different values and culturs ?Just looking at the world one should realise that it is the diversity of allthese cultures that makes the world an interesting place .In a vast country loke China surely there must be room for diversity ,I thounght that the Chinese people could understand that ?
Neither China nor the western world want the olympics to be disturbed .China of course for propagandistic reasons ,the olympics are an event with considerable prestige and serve as a business card. The western world want the commercial opportunities ,multinationals like Coca Cola have heavily invested in the Games ,and so did a lot of other multinationals. The yearning of the tibetans is of no concern to them,as is demonstrated by Carrefour ,protesting that it not supporting the tibetan claims .
As usual for both sides it boils down to big money, the tibetans are stuck between a rock and a hard place .Except for the support of the usual non profit organisations they have nothing to expect from anybody .What counts is money.

Disceptive PowerApr 20th, 2008 - 10:28:28

Just tell me one thing. Why did China kick out all of the reporters and effectively hide what was and still is really going on in Tibet? A fair and just nation would not keep the world blind and deaf during a crises it should be handling justly.

Barbaric tactics are not honorable. Get angry if that makes you feel any better.

In fact, most of the tibetans do not want to be independent, they can live happily and peacefully under chinese government. However,The religious minority whose leader is Dalai Lama want to Split China, my motherland. In March, 14th , their so-called 'peaceful protest' cost lots of damages in Tibet. They loot shops, destroy roads, public facilities, beat innocent passers-by, throw stones to people and cars, burn houses, 5 young girl were burned to death in a clothing shop. Why didn't western media report these facts?! In the way of history , there can be and must be some difficulities and obstacles for the country. I believe in my country, I am sure she can distinguish right from wrong.Fight for the bad forces, and I am sure she can be the winner in the end!

To Goose:

While you're at it, you should avoid the following American manufactured products as well:

Salmonella Illnesses in Multiple States may be Linked to Recently Recalled Cereal
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today announced that at least 21 people in 13 states have been diagnosed with salmonellosis that was caused by the same strain of Salmonella that was found in the recently recalled unsweetened Puffed Rice and unsweetened Puffed Wheat Cereals produced by Malt-O-Meal.

Londonderry, NH -- March 28, 2008 -- Organic yogurt maker Stonyfield Farm is voluntarily recalling Stonyfield Organic Fat Free Blueberry Yogurt, packaged in 6 oz cups. The recall comes in response to consumer complaints reporting plastic or glass fragments in these particular batches of fat free blueberry yogurt.

Harrisburg, PA -- April 7, 2008 -- Consumers who purchased raw milk from Piney Ridge dairy farm in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, and Clark and Elaine Duncan’s farm in Meadville, Crawford County, anytime after March 10 should discard it immediately due to the risk of Listeria Monocytogenes contamination, Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff said today.
