John Smith is obviously right.

The desperate arguments of the Chinese colonialists are pure jingoism - in America, slave owners had all kinds of arguments to keep their slaves. One argument eerily similar to that of the Chinese jingoists - we treat our slaves very well, why should we free them!!!

Keep talking, Chinese jingoists (we treat our Tibetans very well garbage ...) & Chinese Imperialists ('monster' Dalai Lama!). The more you speak, the more the world laughs at your ridiculous pretend morality.

We welcome Chinese jingoism's desperate drumbeat. Look forward to their next ridiculous comment. It only helps to keep the fire of Tibetan freedom alive.

Turn your compasssion into actions pleaseApr 13th, 2008 - 17:23:47

If you truely care about human rights, please do the followings instead
of shouting and putting bumper stickers as fashion a statement:
1. Go to Tibet if you can afford, talk to locals and buy goods from locals to help them with their lives

2. If you can not afford, please take a vacation in New Orleans, help the local people there who desperately need help

3. Go to Indian casinos, gamble all the ways to help local Indians. Too sad, do they deserve more!

4. Return California to Mexico, it would certainly hold serveral times more illegal aliens in this country and solve the mounting problems.

Think about what you can do, do not just sit there and type.
I challenge you do it.

Why should china cares if the world laugh at herApr 13th, 2008 - 17:36:05

Ridiculous, you moron obviously thought that all asian think alike. you think that shaming will work on China. If you believed that the chinese are like the koreans and Japanese who had very strong 'shame' culture. Then you are wrong. First that assumption about Japanese shame culture can be applied to their nation is wrong. The assumption came from the observation of japanese family culture where the parents shame their children into doing their wills (studying hard...)At a national level, you should find the different asian groups don't react well to shaming. you can't observe in anti-whaling campaign against Japan, where the majority of japanese public is behind the whalers.

For us and them, your theory of Nasscistic nationalist could also apply to the US, japan, and Russia. In fact, such reaction is the norm among the powerful nations. The kind of denial of own wrong doing and insisting of holding moral high ground is common place. In the 1950s, Holland oh the peaceful holland fought a very bloody war in indonesia to keep its spice and coffee colony. You will be surprised by the Dutch jingolistic attitude among the dutch public who were just recently freed from the Nazis.

Bare Foot MonkApr 13th, 2008 - 18:20:56

Buddhism has never ever involved in politic since history. Material world and Spiritual world are 2 different things.
Example, A Buddhist Temple is a place purely for prayers (religion).
And a Parliament is for the politicians (politic).

Dalai Lama after receiving so many 'prices' from the material world, has lost his spiritual world. He is now standing on the material world And He is now a 'politician' instead of a 'Pure Spiritual Buddhist leader'.

Please see Buddha quotes as follow:-

'All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain?'

'An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.'

'Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.'
Buddha

Hello TibetApr 13th, 2008 - 18:35:57

Tibetan are treated equally as the Han Chinese. Conditions in Tibet will improve only when the overall conditions improve in China. That is Tibetans' best bet.

Millions of Iraqis have been killed. And this Human rights fighter called 'America' is still trying so desperately to justify that pathetic war. Americans please shut the hell up because you have lost all credibility to talk about human rights.
Of course this does not mean that the Chinese gov should not improve its won human rights record. It is just utterly disgusting to see the Americans talk about human rights.

If you really care about Tibetan and their religion, please send at least half or all of your salary to support Tibetan monks. These monks are non-productive paraiste and they still think they are masters and expect somebody to feed them like the old feudal Tibetan society. It's too bad there are no more slave in Tibet today and people like John Smith are more than welcome to take this role!

Let's cool down. We don't know what is the nationality of John Smith, he is just a sneaky coward who wants to provoke the relationship between US and China. There are a lot of good people in US and they fully undrestand the importance of cooperation between US and China to create a brighter future for both countries.

Translate what Dalai Lama has saidApr 13th, 2008 - 21:28:51

Yes, the Han Chinese are too strong. You can not take arms and free
Tibet from China's map. That is just suicide.
Instead let us set up schools and temples by following Saudi's example,
train up several generations of extremists. After a few decades we may have a chance.
Watch his interview, is that what he said? Is ethnic cleansing what he is promoting at the end?

No! Sir! I am just trying connecting the dots.

Dalai Lama should separate politics and religionApr 13th, 2008 - 22:13:39

He should choose one.
If he chooses religion not politics, denounces the monks and others for not following the religion, he would earn my respect. The problem is he has not. Why do you want to get there to loose moral highground which is a powerful weapon? Can someone give an answer?
