Floods claim four victims in northern Thailand

Bangkok - Flash floods caused by heavy monsoon rains killed four people in Thailand's northern provinces of Loei and Phetchabun, with two other people listed as missing, media reports said Monday. Among the victims, all of whom were Thais, were a 98-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl, said The Nation news website. Authorities warned of more flash floods in the northern provinces of Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Tak. Floods are common in Thailand during the rainy season, which lasts from May to October. © 2007 dpa - Deutsche Presse-Agentur
