Smirky Boy is going to wade in too deep again if he doesn't watch out. As for the so-called war we are in. We shouldn't be there in the middle of the civil war regardless of what anyone says is necessary. We aren't gaining anything but more senseless deaths from mostly road-side bombs. There is absolutely no point, and the 'experts' can rationalize all they want to with their detailed descriptions of why we need to be there, and it still boils down to a senseless, needless battle with no end sight.

Don't believe in 30 years people will be talking about how worthless the congress or the senate was back in '07, but history books will be full of how worthless this President and Vice President, administration, staff etc was. Remember the senate when Nixon was President---of course not, but you do remember how bad Nixon was (or supposedly was)...
I don't know what China has to do with it. First of all, Europe do not need a protection from the USA because of two reasons. The first is that Iran would never attack Europe being their primary economic partner. The Europeans do like the Persians, in fact more than the Yankees, not only because they can be trusted more. The second reason is that Europe can defend themselves, we do not need protection from a country losing every single war since WW2 (except Grenada and - when the peace treaty will be signed someday - Korea).
I think that the missile system will be built to protect Israel and i strongly oppose that. Israel should be wiped out, revenge for killing Jesus, ignoring Gods exile, creating an Apartheid country and starting most wars in the 20th century through AIPAC, not to forget the terroristic acts against the Palestinians.
If Israel would be nuked, the whole world would prosper as never seen before, peace would spread from the middle east to the world.

Any missile shield could not stop a nuke attack against US or anyone else, its only function because of its limitations would be against a country like Iran or NK, who could only launch (near future) a few. Well Goose - there are lots of Chinese in america (over 15,000 chinese babies are adopted from China every year to start with) and the Chinese reserves are increasing by $10,Billion every DAY, so perhaps they don't have time to bother with these empty headed bleats.
But one other reason could be that they communicate in Chinese, with Chinese characters, which I suspect you can't read
