Why is a country like Australia not a member of the G8?
Australia, which is one of the world's liberal democracies, and which is in a way powering the growth of emerging economies like India and China (through its export of resources), should be made a member of the G8.
Infact, the ideal successor of the G8 could be the G20. The G8 today has become nothing but an irrelevant talk shop.
Why is a country like Australia not a member of the G8?
Australia, which is one of the world's leading liberal democracies, and which is in a way powering the growth of emerging economies/powers like India and China (through its export of resources), should be made a member of the G8.
In fact, the ideal successor of the G8 could be the G20. The G8 today has become nothing but an irrelevant talk shop. It is time for the G8 to expand, if it hopes to be even remotely relevant towards tackling the globe's pressing problems/issues.
Should be disbanded because it fills NO purpose and no other country gives a crap.

The G8 is an obscene circus with incompetent leaders while more than half of the world is dying of starvation. The cost of all those meetings is astronomical and could be used for builiging schools, clinics, etc. Shame on the leaders and their cohorts.
