From Monsters and Critics.com Americas News Mexico City - At least 28 people were killed and several others were injured when a bus plummeted 200 meters off a mountain highway in the Mexican state of Hidalgo, provincial police said late Monday. 'The scene is devastating,' said civil defense chief Miguel Garcia Conde. 'Rescue teams saw at least three children among the dead, but the majority are adults and young people.' The accident occurred along a winding section of the highway in San Agustin Metzquititlan, about 150 kilometers north of the Mexican capital. Reportedly, rescue efforts on the steep terrain were difficult. Mechanical problems were blamed for the accident. Regional authorities did not rule out the possibility that more dead bodies may be found in the wreckage of the vehicle. © Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com.
