Politically-motivated clashes leave 3 dead, 12 injured in Bolivia

You should get your news from sources other than Canal 7, the state-operated television station. (Watch carefully as a new scandal unfolds involving Canal 7, the Minister of Government and corruption...) They are full of lies on this station, when they are not simply covering up the events here. In particular, you should understand that the reason there is now bloodshed is because Evo has called upon his supporters to respond to the events in the east (media luna). This is insane - the actions of a government which is no longer in control. From the beginning, this government has failed in its mandate to serve the country. I was very hopeful that they could turn the historical tide and bring equality and prosperity to this beautiful, but sad, country, but they have failed miserably. Notice that the mineros are not behind Evo anymore. Although it appears on the surface that there is widespread support, it is mainly by power-seeking organizations who are going to drag the misfortunate poor indigenous people they claim to serve into their bloody wake. Get your head out of its idealist bubble and take a serious look at what is going on here: more of the same, power-hungry, corrupt, greed. Evo's government is only different from past ones in it's ethnicity.

We have been antagonizing the Russians in their own back yard with this ridiculous 'missile shield,' and pushing for countries to enter NATO, with no other reason, except to humiliate Russia, and we are surprised that they are fighting back. The Russians took Georgia to show us that we have no real control in that part of the world, in spite of whatever 'alliances' we may have cooked up, and I would bet we couldn't flex the same kind of muscle in South America, especially since all of our troops are chasing their tails in the middle east. These short sighted slights to Russia are not just diplomatic disasters, they are long term disservices to many generations of Americans to come, who it will fall upon to clean up yet another mess from this administration. This kind of conduct is not just strategically flawed, it is entirely unnecessary. If all of this is really about Russia selling Iran machines and materials to make a nuclear bomb, then why don't we address that subject in a way that gets to the point, because this other stuff is not in the short or long term interests of the United States.

'Mo' is a liar. This government is anti-corruption, and the fact that they hold recall referenda should be proof of that. Nobody holds recalls unless they are confident in their actions, because the people will hold them to their word. And so far, Evo has done great. He's brought full literacy, hospitals, and schools, and also negotiated a treaty with Chile for access to the sea--can any white previous president of Bolivia claim the same? NO! They were all too busy toadying to the the gringos, the IMF, World Bank, etc., etc.

The 'Media Luna' is the place run by the corruptocrats, and the lie-prone private channels are the ones you can't trust--they are blatantly racist. This isn't about 'autonomy', this is about a few grabbing all the wealth and trying to keep it from being redistributed as it ought to have been all along. And the only ones calling out gangs of thugs are the Media Luna governors, who are using real fascists complete with Nazi swastikas to try to intimidate the locals.

Mo, do some REAL research and get off the private media whore koolaid.
