Arms embargo? Yes, absolutely. There are too many arms in the world and the world leader in arms production is the United States. Although I suspect China will want that title sooner or later, they are a natural. The embargo should be around the U.S. to limit exports.

As for other sanctions? There is a long history of sanctions now. Have they worked? Iraq, Iran, Palestinians, Cuba, etc.

This is just another sad moment in the continued world-leadership crisis.

As for a travel ban? Wow, I'm scared. So, he won't be able to sound off in an international forum, and no one is going to visit him. Sounds like isolationism to me, that is in a weird reverse way. Instead of ignoring someone the U.N. orders that someone not to go somewhere so that that someone can be ignored.

Crazy world of ineffectual intellectuals (except or Bush, he is just ineffectual).

The United States should not be concerned with other nations. We Americans should mind our own damn business and focus on our economy which is in deep pooh right now. No wonder 98% of the world HATES our guts.
