Country crooner and reality TV star Trace Adkins and his Sarepta Gentlemen’s Club band will bring the big man’s biggest hits to the Fox & Friends Summer Concert stage on Friday (8/1). The hour-long concert is open to the public and will showcase the hitmaker’s long list of smash singles on-air and online, with a feature performance of “Girl In Texas,” which he wrote twenty years ago upon arriving in Nashville.
Fans wishing to attend can go to foxandfriends.com/concert for more information.
On Saturday August 2, Trace travels to Boston’s Fenway Park to perform the national anthem opening the Red Sox v. Yankees, the second of a three-game series, where he will have to say he’s “wicked psyched” to be there and “Pahhhk the cahhh: ten times until he gets it right, down at least five Fenway franks and tell all the hater Sox fans that yes, Jeter IS most likely gay (none of that was true except the anthem part).
All of this will be broadcast nationally on FOX. A proud supporter of our country’s armed forces, Adkins previously performed the anthem at Fenway in July 2012 and in St. Louis, MO in 2011 for Game 2 of the World Series.
Adkins has also added vocal duo Jill & Kate to his touring band. Since June when he returned to the road, Trace’s super-charged shows have electrified audiences and now he’s upped the ante again.
“Having the girls on the road has really given a new kind of energy to the performances. Plus, with the addition of these soulful voices, the Sarepta Gentlemen’s Club may just have a shot at salvation after all,” joked Trace.
Previously, Jill & Kate toured internationally with Kelly Clarkson for six years and released two albums: Heart of Stone (2012) and an acoustic covers album (April 2014).
