Trace Adkins is a country music superstar. Nearly all of his albums, save 1999’s ‘More,’ have been certified as gold or platinum (‘Songs about Me’ made 2x platinum).
This second compilation of these greatest hits takes into account more recent work. It starts off with his latest number one hit “Ladies Love Country Boys.”
“Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” is a fun song and you can see that it’s one that you can scoot you boots across the dance floor to or crank up when you’re driving your pickup truck down the interstate. “Ladies Love Country Boys” could also fit into those activities too.
Some of the songs are your typical country music songs, but then you have the moving “Arlington” about the spirit of a recent death in the war joining his other honored fallen relatives in Arlington National Cemetery. I found it quite a moving song and it may be my favorite from this album.
It’s always good to have a greatest hits collection and Adkins’ set has several types of country songs, ranging from silly to solemn. It’s a nice slice from his later career and will go well if you have the first volume.
