Album Review: Josh Turner – ‘Everything is Fine’
By Jeff Swindoll Nov 14, 2007, 19:25 GMT

Appearances can be deceiving. From the look of Josh Turner on the cover of ‘Everything is Fine,’ I would not have expected his voice to be so deep and rich. I wasn’t expecting Jerry Lewis, but I sure wasn’t expecting the deep, booming baritone voice of “Everything is Fine” that begins the album.
His voice reminded me of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and a host of other good ole country performers (or should that be grand ole?). Obviously others thought of him in such high company since in October 2007 he was asked to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
‘Everything is Fine’ is his third studio album (his first, ‘Long Black Train,’ went Platinum). “Firecracker” is the song that’s getting radio play (according to my country radio listening coworker) and is about a firecracker of a girlfriend. “Another Try” features Trisha Yearwood and “Nowhere Fast” is a duet with Anthony Hamilton. “Trailerhood” is a funny song about country living.
I really liked this album; Turner’s booming voice; and how it reminded me of classic country. However, it’s not antiquated but more like classic country (which is classic for a reason) and is a great album – check it out.

Love it! I have listened to it every day since puchasing it on the date of it's release. I was not a country fan until I heard Josh sing your man one day. I now own all of his work and have found a few more artists in the genra whom I appreciate. Keep up the fine work Josh
