Flower Power is a collection from Time Life that brings the Love Generation’s music to CD in this grand five-album set.  Each album has two discs so you’ll be grooving for many hours.

So lets fire up the bong, put some flowers in our hair, and see what the set holds (if we can manage to do that after a few hits).  The first album is ‘Summer of Love: The Hits of 1967’ and features the likes of Scott McKenzie (“San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)”), The Turtles (“Happy Together”), Cream (“Feel Free”), Jefferson Airplane (“Somebody to Love”) and 36 other tracks.

That’s only the first disc and the set has 175 tracks of groovy songs that you’re sure to recognize from the summer of love.

The albums are housed in an oversized box with an illustration of a colorful VW bus that will take you “California Dreamin” (The Mamas and the Papas).  You’ll also hear “Born to be Wild” (Steppenwolf), “Fire” (The Crazy World of Arthur Brown), “Mr. Tambourine Man” (The Byrds), “Love, Peace, and Happiness” (The Chamber Brothers), and many others sure to make you want to go to Woodstock and roll around in the mud.

If you’re like me and fine yourself listening to the oldies station then this massive collection will bring out the old hippie in you.
