The Killers are a band from Las Vegas that is made up of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboard), Dave Keuning (guitar, vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitars, vocals), and Ronnie Vannucci (drums). Their debut album ‘Hott Fuss’ came out in 2004 to rave reviews and Platinum success.
Their follow-up is two years in the making and takes us to ‘Sam’s Town.’ The tracks are “Sam’s Town,” “enterlude,” “When You Were Young,” “Bling (Confessions of a King),” “For Reasons Unknown,” “Read my Mind,” “Uncle Jonny,” “Bones,” “My List,” “This River is Wild,” “Why Do I Keep Counting?,” and “extilude.”
This is my first exposure to the Killers and all I have to say is that I really liked this album. They appear to be replicating the success of their first album since “Where You Were Young” spent 2 weeks in the number one spot on the charts and ‘Sam’s Town’ is also going Platinum.
Another selling point for me was that their video for their tune “Bones” was directed by Tim Burton. I know that I’ll be looking forward to their next album and hope that I don’t have to wait another two years for it.
