From Monsters and Critics.com Music News The Cure will hit the road for a North American tour on May 9th, but fans can also look forward to a new single from the band to be released on the 13th of each month. The band made an announcement on their website stating a new single will be released each month on the 13th leading up to The Cure’s 13th studio album release on Sept. 13th. The first scheduled single is titled “The Only One” and will be backed by non-album B-side “NY Trip.” The single can currently be heard on The Cure’s website. June 13th will see the release of “Freakshow” which will feature “All Kinds of Stuff,” as its B-side. The two tracks were produced by singer Robert Smith and Keith Uddin - who has wrote and produced No Doubt, Bjork, and Nick Cave. The singles for July and August have not yet been announced. Fans have been waiting for the new studio album from The Cure – which formed in 1976. The project was originally scheduled to hit store shelves at beginning of 2007, but was postponed twice (to fall 2007 then spring 2008). It is The Cure’s first album of new material since 2004. The band’s North American tour will feature stops in Washington, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New York, Montreal, Chicago, Kansas City, Vancouver, Phoenix and Dallas. © Copyright 2007 by monstersandcritics.com.
