Noel Gallagher is set to play Glastonbury.

The Oasis star issued a come and get me plea to the festival's organiser Michael Eavis last week to bring his semi-acoustic solo set to the world famous music event.

Now Michael's daughter Emily, who helps her father organise the event, has revealed the pair are ready to make Noel's wish come true.

She said: "We definitely want Noel!"

Michael added to NME magazine: "I've got his mobile phone number so I'm going to call him. But if he tells me to get lost, it's not my fault!"

Noel, 39, revealed his Glastonbury ambition after wowing fans with his amazing set at last week's Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows, held at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The rocker - who headlined the festival with Oasis in 1995 and 2004 - said: "Glastonbury acoustic tent sounds nice. That would be good. If I say that maybe Mr Eavis will give me a call!

"Saying that he'd probably put me on at the same time as Arctic Monkeys. The best slot is second on the bill on the Other Stage. I've never had that slot at Glastonbury, but we've done it at foreign festivals and it's great."

Noel's stripped down show - which featured Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and percussionist Terry Kirkbride - contained a selection of classic Oasis B-sides, including 'Talk Tonight' and 'Listen Up', as well as better-known hits such as 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.
