From Monsters and Critics.com Music News Sting says a "light bulb" came on in his head when he decided to reform his former band The Police. The ageing rocker - who once claimed he would have to be "certified insane" to play with his former band mates again - sent shockwaves through the music community and delighted fans when he announced their comeback tour this year. Sting insists the idea came to him like a musical epiphany. He told Britain's Hello magazine: "If you'd asked me the day before I made this decision, I would have said, 'You're out of your mind. My head is somewhere else.' "I woke up one morning three months ago and this light bulb went off in my head. I thought, 'I'm going to call Andy and Stewart and tell them we should tour.' " The band - which formed in 1977 - have only played together twice since their split, at Sting's wedding to Trudie Styler in 1992, and at their induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame a decade later. Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers opened the 49th Grammy Awards last month. Their tour is set to begin in Vancouver, Canada, in May.
