New Oasis album accidentally released early

This wasn’t the handiwork of eye-patch wearing internet pirates, or even obsessive Oasis fans, but the music industry itself. The album was available from the German iTunes music store ( (don’t bother, it’s been removed now) for just a few hours on May 3rd, the error being corrected once it was spotted. However, many fans used this small window of opportunity to do some early shopping and word spread quickly via Oasis fan sites.
The accidental leak most likely stems from a simple clerical error. It appears that someone, somewhere had a clumsy day with the keyboard, and a release date of 30/05/2005 became 03/05/2005.
Sony BMG were not amused. A spokesmen for Oasis’s label told NME that “Our concern, of course, is that illegal filesharers will try to download the album’s songs and our response to this would be immediate legal action.”
You can view a track listing in our database.
The album is available to pre-order via Amazon and Amazon UK.
