Edwyn Collins Fights for Life

Scottish singer/songwriter Edwyn Collins has had emergency brain surgery following a cerebral hemorrhage he suffered February 20. Collins had the surgery on Friday and is said to have come through the operation well.His wife posted a message on his official Web site saying: "He has come through it as well as can be hoped for and is continuing to fight. Thank you for all the loving thoughts. When there is more to report, I'll let you all know." Collins first broke through with the 1980's band "Orange Juice" and later had a huge solo hit with 'A Girl Like You,' more recently he has been producing.You can keep abreast of his condition via the official Web Site.

I hope that Edwyn Collins pulls through & regains full health after his recent brain surgery. I have been a nightclub D.J. for 23 years. One of the first records I remember playing as a professional was Orange Juice's 'rip it up' & as such Edwyn has a special place in my heart.
