Waterman Takes a Hit from Kylie Minogue
By James Wray Jan 24, 2005, 2:30 GMT
Kylie Minogue is taking legal action against record supremo Pete Waterman over royalties from a past album release.
Minogue alleges that Waterman's company, Pal Productions, failed to pay around $830,000 in royalties due to the singer from the release of her Greatest Hits album in 2003.
It seems although the company made a partial payment there is still an amount outstanding and so Minogue decided to take court action to retrieve the funds. The proceedings are taking place in Australia at the Supreme Court of Victoria.
It was Waterman and partners Stock and Aitken who launched the former soap stars career back in the eighties with the likes of "I Should be So Lucky"; the trio being so successful they became known as the 'Hit Factory.'
