Suicide Silence Singer Mitch Lucker dies in motorcycle accident

Suicide Silence was part of the touring Rockstar Mayhem Festival in both 2008 and 2011, as well as tours including Music as a Weapon IV and Pedal to the Metal, both in 2009.

Metal band Suicide Silence's leadman vocalist, Mitch Lucker, died today (Nov. 1) from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in Huntington Beach last night.

Lucker was 28 years old.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Orange County coroner's office stated that Lucker was hospitalized after the accident shortly before 9 p.m. yesterday and was pronounced dead at 6:17 a.m. this morning at UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA.

 

Lucker's bandmates posted the following statement through the band's Facebook wall:

There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

Suicide Silence was part of the touring Rockstar Mayhem Festival in both 2008 and 2011, as well as tours including Music as a Weapon IV and Pedal to the Metal, both in 2009.

They were to perform at California Metalfest VI in San Bernardino, CA. on November 24.

Suicide Silence was known for their metalcore sound.

Lucker leaves behind a wife and child.
