Lonestar Anniversary Summer Tour Hits Los Angeles July 27 - Dates and details

Lonestar hits the road this summer, coming to Los Angeles July 27.

With the 20th anniversary of multi-platinum country band Lonestar already underway, fans will be excited to hear that the release of their new single, the melodically sparkling and lyrically urgent “The Countdown,” has been confirmed for July 17.  A new album--on their own label, 4 STAR RECORDS--is expected in October.

The recently reunited quartet--Michael Britt, lead guitar & backing vocals; Richie McDonald, lead vocals & piano; Keech Rainwater, drums; and Dean Sams, keyboards and backing vocals--kicked off 2012 with a hugely acclaimed European tour on a multi-artist bill with Reba McEntire and Ricky Scaggs.

Lonestar also recently performed at the CMA Fest in Nashville: an invitation-only sold out show for their fan club at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum as well as on the Riverfront Stage for CMA festival attendees.

The group debuted “The Countdown” for the standing-room-only festival show, as well as another new song, “Pretty Good Day.”  “It was a blast” says SAMS.  “Fans were singing along to the new single by the second verse.”  McDONALD added, “What a way to start the summer: in the heat, outside, with thousands of fans singing along.  Back on the bus!”

The band resumes their touring schedule June 21 in Del Mar, CA, with shows booked through October including stops in Westbury, NY (7/13), Los Angeles (7/27) and Lancaster, PA (9/20).  See all dates below.

The Texas-bred band, known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals, has amassed RIAA-certified sales in excess of 10 million album units since their national launch in 1995 and achieved 10 #1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Crying To Me” and “Amazed.”  The band’s awards include a 1999 ACM Single of The Year for “Amazed” (the song also won the Song of the Year award) and the 2001 CMA Vocal Group of the Year.  After McDonald left the band for a solo career in 2007, LONESTAR toured and released their 10th album in 2010, Party Heard Around The World, with now former lead vocalist Cody Collins.

Lonestar's as-of-yet-untitled 2012 album with all its original members is expected to be released this October.
