The Vaccines think they are successful because they make 'simplistic' but uncompromising music.
The 'Wreckin Bar (Ra Ra Ra)' band have seen huge success in the last year with their debut album 'What Did You Expect from the Vaccines?', and singer Justin Young puts it down to the band deciding to go 'back to basics' and make a very simple record.
He said: 'All of us in the band wanted to make this a very a really back to basics record and make an album that was pure pop music from start to finish. I think it was as good an album as we could have made at that time.
'Knowing what our ambition was, I don't think any of us could have been happier with it. It's simplistic pop music recorded in a really uncompromising way. I'm really proud of it. I think we did exactly what we wanted to do.'
The band are nominated for Best New Band and Best New Album at this year's NME awards, and Justin thinks it's a great way to cap off a year which has seen them achieve more than they dared hope.
He added: 'We were in this position this time last year where everything for us seemed to hinge on a set of predictions, so to come out with a record that's really connected with people and to be able to tour all over the world has been amazing.
'Whatever people say about us there haven't been many bands who have started the year as a tip and ended up playing the Brixton Academy in London.'
