Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with the early stages of lymphoma, but the band is still in the process of working on their new studio album.
The band issued a statement asking fans to send positive vibes to the legendary guitarist - who is consulting with his doctors to determine the best treatment plan. The statement further said Iommi remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.
Black Sabbath - Ozzy Osbourne (vocals), Tony Iommi (guitar), Geezer Butler (bass) and Bill Ward (drums) – are currently in the studio writing and recording their first album together in 33 years in Los Angeles. The new studio album is scheduled to be released sometime this fall and is being produced by Rick Rubin.
