Everything old is new again, as former Van Halen leadman David Lee Roth has made up with guitarist Eddie Van Halen, and together have announced the news on Van-Halen.com through a series of video clips.
Specific tour dates will be unveiled soon, with tickets going on sale Jan. 10.
The 2012 tour promises Roth, a leadman from 1972 to 1985, rejoined with guitarist Eddie Van Halen, bassist Wolfgang Van Halen and drummer Alex Van Halen. Roth was famously replaced with Sammy Hagar in a contentious break, only to have bad blood lead to the Hagar Van Halen split in 1996. Gary Cherone replaced Hagar as frontman up until 1999. Roth joined Van Halen for an MTV Video Music Awards performance in 1996 before returning for a brief tour the following year.
Original bassist Mike Anthony went off with Hagar to work with the group Chickenfoot.
In November, Van Halen signed a new deal with Interscope Records, and with that, the group has been working on its first full-length studio album with Roth on vocals since 1984.
This album will be Van Halen's first release since 1998's "Van Halen III."
