Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds soared to the No. 1 spot in the U.K. with 122,000 copies sold in the first week of release. The album was released in Europe on October 18th and is already ranking among the highest selling debuts of 2011.
The album will hit the U.S. on November 8th on the Mash/Mercury Records label and the band will follow the release with their network television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman on November 10th.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds was recorded in London and completed in Los Angeles during 2010 and the first half of 2011. The album was co-produced by Noel Gallagher and Dave Sardy, who produced the last Oasis album, Dig Out Your Soul (2008).
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will launch their first tour of North America November 7th in Toronto, ON and will include multiple shows in New York and Los Angeles.
During a press conference this summer, Gallagher stated the concerts would be a blend of classic Oasis tracks along with his new solo material.
