Hey! remember The Bangles? Walk like an Egyptian? Of course you do.

Now you can celebrate the release of ‘Sweetheart of the Sun' Out Today; In-Store CD Signing and Acoustic Performance at Barnes & Noble Los Angeles.

Iconic trio The Bangles release their new album today, Tuesday, September 27. As an early celebration, this past Thursday (9/22) the group hosted an exclusive CD release party with iconic DJ and early supporter Rodney Bingenheimer (KROQ) and performed an intimate acoustic session.

Bingenheimer, one of the first DJs to play THE BANGLES’ music back when they were previously called The Bangs, asked guitarist/singer Susanna Hoffs, guitarist/singer Vicki Peterson and drummer/singer Debbi Peterson questions about the new album and shared a few memories before opening the floor to the audience for questions. Following the Q&A, the group did what they do best; they hypnotized the packed house in the legendary Capital Records Studio A with their unmistakable crystalline sound.

The group started off the set with their 1986 mega-hit “Manic Monday,” followed by cuts from Sweetheart of the Sun: shimmering opening track “Anna Lee (Sweetheart of the Sun),” “Under A Cloud” and the first single “I’ll Never Be Through With You,” a beautiful, aching song of unrequited love. The performance showcased their seemingly effortless, one-of-a-kind vocal abilities and stunning harmonies. Among those in attendance were Matthew Sweet, who co-produced the album with THE BANGLES, pop icon Debbie Gibson and Charlotte Caffey of The Go-Go’s who co-wrote “I’ll Never Be Through With You” with Susanna and Vicki.

Fans will also get the opportunity to meet them at an in-store event on release day, Tuesday, September 27 at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles. Before an album signing session, the band will perform a short acoustic set as well. For more information, visit: http://store-locator.barnesandnoble.com/event/73615.

On the upcoming tour, they will perform a mix of their classics and material from the new release.  The tour kicks off October 1 at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA with a stop at New York’s Highline Ballroom Monday, October 3 and Los Angeles’ House of Blues Sunset Wednesday, November 9.
