American Idol winner Scotty McCreery’s debut album ‘Clear As Day’ is set to arrive on October 4th on the Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/ Interscope label.
Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina’s album ‘Wildflower’ will follow on Oct. 11th on the same label.
The announcements come on the heels of the singer’s performance on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” McCreery and Alaina are currently on the American Idols Live! Tour that runs through September and stops in Atlantic City, N.J., on Saturday, Aug. 13.
In a press release, McCreery stated: “We’ve been working hard on this album not only in Nashville, but in studios across the country because I’ve been on the Idol tour. We’re putting what I believe are the best songs we could find on it and I really hope everyone likes it. The whole experience has been amazing! I love working with my album producer, Mark Bright, and have gotten to work with some of the best musicians in Nashville!”

Since claiming the American Idol Season 10 crown, McCreery has been taking the country music industry by storm - as evidenced by the fact that some of the best writers in country music wrote songs specifically for this project, which can be unheard of for a new artist.
The seventeen-year-old singer is the youngest male winner in the nine-year history of American Idol -which received a record-breaking 122.4 million votes for Scotty and runner-up Lauren Alaina. The final show attracted 29.3 million viewers and 38.6 million people tuned in to see the winner’s name announced.
In a press release, Alaina stated: “I have always dreamed of making an album and I can’t believe it’s actually happening. It’s because of the fans who voted for me on American Idol that I am here, so I am dedicating this album to them. I hope they love it!”
McCreery’s album is described as a collection of songs in the same straight-ahead country style that captured the nation’s hearts – and votes—on the show.

In the press release, Alaina described the album as having “a flavor for everybody” and a “mixture of all different songs.” The track list is said to range from slow ballads to dance tunes.
