Katy Perry leads nominees at MTV's Video Music Awards

Los Angeles - Katy Perry has earned a leading nine nominations for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards including three nominations for her Firework clip.
The spectacular video will compete for Video of the Year with Adele's Rolling in the Deep, Yonkers by Tyler the Creator, Bruno Mars' Grenade and Make Some Noise by the Beastie Boys.
Adele nabbed seven nominations all for Rolling in the Deep, while Kanye West also garnered seven nods, including one for his collaboration with Perry on E.T. Bruno Mars was nominated four times, while Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and Eminem, all had three nominations each.
The MTV show is scheduled to take place on August 28 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Fans can vote for their favourite artists online at vma.mtv.com
