Rock icon Rod Stewart is set to release a “best of” collection made up of highlights from the singer’s five albums in his ‘Great American Songbook’ series. The ‘Best of the … The Great American Songbook” will be released on February 1st and features 14 tracks.
In addition to the collection of past hits, the new “best of” album will include one, newly recorded, never before released track "You’ll Never Know” – which was produced by one of Rod’s longtime collaborators Richard Perry. It will also feature brand new mixes of “Someone To Watch Over Me” and “Bye Bye Blackbird.”
With his signature raspy voice, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart is widely regarded as having one of the most interpretive voices in music.
His new collection of hits celebrates the unprecedented success of the five volume series - which is the biggest-selling ongoing series of new music recordings in history with more than 18 million copies sold worldwide.
Since signing with J Records, every one of Stewart’s seven albums has entered Top 4 on the chart, including all five volumes of The Great American Songbook series. Stewart just wrapped a sold-out first ever concert run in Las Vegas in November and a sold-out European tour this past summer.
The singer is now in the planning stages of a U.S. tour in the spring of 2011.
