The Jonas Brothers have announced plans for a three continent summer world tour with special guest Demi Lovato. Produced by Live Nation and sponsored by OfficeMax, the tour is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, July 27th, in Dallas, Texas, and will continue throughout North America, Latin America and Europe.
The concert tour is expected to combine performances of both artists’ hits as well as music from the Disney Channel Original Movie, “Camp Rock,” and its upcoming sequel. The tour is also expected to include appearances by friends and co-stars from both “Camp Rock” movies.
In a press release, Nick Jonas stated: “We love recording and creating new music in the studio and enjoy doing television but performing live music together for our fans is the ultimate - nothing can compare to the energy from the crowd. We can’t wait to get back on the road this summer with Demi and our friends from ‘Camp Rock.’ Together we’re going to bring our fans a show that they’ll never forget.”
Tickets will be on sale beginning Saturday, May 15. Check www.livenation.com and www.teamjonas.com for further information and updates on the tour including additional details on ticket sales.
Beginning Tuesday, May 11, fans will be able to access a “Camp Rock” themed premium iTouch and iPhone app, which will also be optimized for the iPad, to buy concert tickets starting on May 15.
The Jonas Brothers have had three No. 1 albums since their breakout year in 2007 and have evolved into a touring powerhouse. Their “Jonas Brothers World Tour” was among the top grossing concert tours in 2009, with over 1.5 million attendees and sold out shows on three continents. It also won Billboard's Eventful Fans' Choice Award for the best concert tour of the year.
Demi Lovato, star of the hit series “Sonny With A Chance” and a popular solo recording artist, proved her diversity as a musician and performer during her headlining concert tour last year. Her first solo album, “Don't Forget,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and her second album, “Here We Go Again” entered the chart at #1, delivering a platinum-certified hit of the same name. She is a multiple Teen Choice Award winner.
Disney Channel is expected to have the biggest launch ever of a Disney Channel Original Movie with “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” starring Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato. The movie premieres Friday, September 3, and its soundtrack will be available Tuesday, July 27th.
