Steve Tyler could sue if Aerosmith replaces him
Feb 3, 2010, 10:26 GMT
Los Angeles - A lawyer for Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has threatened to sue the manager of the band to prevent him from hiring a replacement singer, according to Billboard.com Tuesday.
The report said that attorney Skip Miller requested that Aerosmith manager Howard Kaufman 'immediately cease and desist from engaging in acts and conduct to the harm and detriment of your own client, Aerosmith, and our client who is one of its members.'
Aerosmith played its last show in August when Tyler, 61, fell from the stage.
The lawyer's letter was prompted by the comments of Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry that the band was looking for a new frontman, and by Kaufman who allegedly said that 'the band would be better off without Steven.'
Miller wrote in the letter: 'Can you imagine the manager of the Rolling Stones calling for the replacement of Mick Jagger? It's just absurd ... Steven is Aerosmith.'
