Music icon Michael Jackson died after suffering a cardiac arrest and being rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles.
The death was confirmed by the coroner's office of Los Angeles, after website TMZ.com posted a story stating the singer died.
Jermaine Jackson released a tearful statement to assembled press at UCLA Medical Center, asking them to respect the family's privacy.
Jackson, 50, had been rehearsing for comeback tour that was supposed to kick off at London's O2 Arena. The singer was reportedly planning a series of 50 concerts at O2 Arena with the first scheduled for July 13th.
Paramedics were dispatched to the singer’s home and found him not breathing. They administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Jackson for over forty minutes at his home and transported him to the UCLA Medical Center hospital.
