Kanye West to headline Wireless

Ortega / PR PhotosFollowing in rap icon Jay-Z’s footsteps, West will take the stage at Hyde Park and is expected to make the show “one of the finest performances” at the event, according to a Wireless statement.The event will also see Basement Jaxx headline Saturday’s shows with Paul Oakenfold, Dizzee Rascal and the Streets also scheduled to perform at the festival.On Saturday (3-21), West made a surprise stop by the annual South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. He did a show (which was also streamed online) with several guest – including rappers Consequence, Common and Kid Cudi. He was also joined by singer Erykah Badu.2009 Wireless Festival tickets are expected to go on sale Friday at 9:00 GMT.
