Fleetwood Mac to reunite and hit the road
By Patrick Luce Dec 4, 2008, 12:17 GMT
Fleetwood Mac has announced plans to reunite and hit the road for an ‘Unleashed’ tour in 2009.
The band will kick off the new tour at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh on March 1st, and will wrap things up with a show at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, on March 26th.
The tour will be a way for Fleetwood Mac to support a new greatest hits album, also titled ‘Unleashed,’ which will feature previously unreleased tracks and never before seen footage.
In a join statement, the band said: "We love our band and think the title of the tour, 'Unleashed,' perfectly describes how we all feel when we get on stage together, especially in 2009. We're so happy to get back out on the road, perform everyone's favorite songs and see our fans."
The press release did not confirm which members of the band are expected to take part in the tour, but it should include Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood and John Mcvie. Christine McVie (who left the band in 1997) isn’t mentioned in the release.
