Rapper Lil' Wayne could have a good Grammy night in February after receiving eight Grammy Award Nominations (including Album of the Year) at a concert ceremony on Wednesday.

In addition to Album of the Year, Lil’ Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter III’ picked up a nomination for Best Rap Album.
British rockers Coldplay received seven nominations at the event. Jay-Z, Ne-Yo and Kanye West all received six nominations.
"The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night" was a new way to announce who would be up for an award and featured performances from Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer, and Taylor Swift.
The event was hosted by Grammy Winner LL Cool J and country singer Taylor Swift.
The 51st Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to air on Feb. 8th, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
