Coldplay’s new album "Viva La Vida" has kicked off a fifth week as Britain's No. 1 album.
The album has seen more than 600,000 copies sold in stores since it was released in June and has been able to hold off competition from Duffy's "Rockferry" and Chris Brown's "Exclusive." The album has also seen strong sales in 35 other countries, according to information from Reuters.
Coldplay is set to launch a massive tour in North America with the kick-off concert scheduled for today, July 14, in Los Angeles.
Also on the UK album charts, the Ting Tings’ "We Started Nothing" managed to bump up two spots to land at No. 4 on the charts and the Black Kids’ "Partie Traumatic" landed at No. 5. Beck's new album "Modern Guilt" debuted at No. 9 on the top 10 charts.
