Cult touring act Phish may get together to record an album for release next year.
New York Magazine cites an "e-mail" with "a rumor that supposedly originated from [drummer] Jon Fishman," that the band will have a new album, produced by Steve Lillywhite.
The magazine claims that Steve Lillywhite is in Dublin recording with Bono and U2, per Indie Point Unlimited Supply.
Then they reported that music trade Billboard "placed a call to Lillywhite's people but got nothing better than 'no comment.'"
Phish allegedly broke up in 2004 following a home state of Vermont swan song appearance.
In May, all four members were on hand in New York to accept a lifetime achievement award from the Jammys, but did not perform live.
Last month band member Trey Anastasio said to Rolling Stone magazine, "When Phish broke up, I made some comment about how I'm not gonna go around playing You Enjoy Myself for the rest of my life. And it's so funny because [Jon] Fish[man] and Mike [Gordon] and Page [McConnell] have been talking to each other a lot lately and now - it's not that I can't believe that I said that, but it's symbolic of how much I lost my mind or how much I lost my bearings or something. Because at this point in time I would give my left nut to play that song five times in a row every day until I die." LINK
